Artisan made in Alberta, Canada, these Misiyo candles are a custom blend of local beeswax, sustainable coconut wax and pure essential oils poured into reusable tins with lead-free wicks.
When burned, beeswax candles release negative ions into the air that can help purify and improve air quality in your space. An extremely clean burning wax, it burns slow and long, increasing the longevity of your candle's life. Candle Care:
For the longest, cleanest burn:
Burn for 2 - 4 hours at a time: To maximize total burn time, burn your candle until the melt pool is close to or at the container sides. If you extinguish prematurely the wax may 'tunnel down'. It's tempting to leave your candle burning all day, but burning for longer than around 4 hours at a time will reduce the overall burn time, release excess fragrance, leaving less for your next burn and most importantly - it's a fire hazard as it can overheat the candle container.
Trim your wick to 1/4" every time you light it: Removing excess wick before lighting allows for the cleanest burn possible, keeps the flame in check, and extends the burn time of your candle.
Stop burning the candle when 1/2" - 1/4" of wax is left in the container: Once you have reached this point, the best thing you can do is repurpose it. Burning your candle further may cause damage to the container or scorch the surface the candle is on.
For your safety: Never leave a burning candle unattended or within reach of flammable objects, children, or pets. Keep your lit candle on a flat, flame retardent surface, away from drafts. Do not touch or move the candle while it is lit as the container is hot while burning.
How to repurposes your container:
- Boil about 1" of water in a pot on the stove. Turn the burner down to the lowest setting.
- Place the glass jar or tin face up in the boiled water (do not let the water get inside the vessel) and let the remaining wax slowly melt.
- Once the wax has melted, pour it out. Then wipe any remaining wax out of the container with a paper towel.
- Wash in very hot, soapy water and you are ready to repurpose!
